1. General information
The objectives of the subject are:
To show a general vision of the problems of environmental conservation and the approach that environmental education represents for the mitigation of these problems
To teach the variety of areas in which environmental education is applied.
To provide a solid foundation for students to be able to consider the full scope of the reality of environmental education in all areas of human life.
To promote awareness of environmental issues through real knowledge of our responsibilities and capabilities
To know the field in which environmental education is inserted in society, as well as the different professional opportunities it offers
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, of the 2030 Agenda https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/) and certain specific goals, contributing to some extent to their achievement.
Specifically, Goal 4: Ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, the students shall demonstrate they has acquired the following results:
-List and apply the basic educational and environmental concepts and principles underpinning EE.
-Know and apply the main specific resources currently used in the field of EE.
-Describe and apply paradigms, currents and trends in EE.
-Cite and apply the techniques, materials and resources necessary to do EE (games, group dynamics, campaigns, didactic units, etc.),
-Design and manage environmental education facilities: itineraries, visitor centres, observatories, etc.
-Understand that the purpose of teaching Environmental Education as a transversal axis is to contribute to an integral education in which the cognitive and affective development of the students to their education in values such as solidarity, cooperation, tolerance, respect for the environment, etc
-Be able to create their own criteria for the evaluation of environmental problems.
-Know how to elaborate an Environmental Education Program.

5. Assessment system
The student must demonstrate that they have achieved the intended learning results by means of the following assessment activities
Written test on the basic knowledge of Environmental Education acquired throughout the development of the whole subject , in its theoretical and practical part. It will be a test with short questions and multiple choice answers.
The percentage of the final grade is 50%. To be passed with a grade higher than 5.
Writing and defence of a collective work in the form of an Environmental Education Program or Campaign. The work will be defended by each group of students before the teacher who will ask them questions about its content, development, bibliography, methodology and other aspects. The defence of the work is carried out after 75% of the teaching of the subject has elapsed. The percentage of the final grade is 50%. To be passed with a grade higher than 5.
Both parts must be passed in order to pass the subject.
The success rate of the subject in the last three years is 100%.
